Day 1
Depart Auckland at 8.15 am for Paihia. Experience the spirituality of a canoe journey as you paddle alongside local Maori in your waka. Amidst chanting and speech making, you paddle towards Motu Maire, where you receive a spine tingling challenge and welcome to the sacred island. This evening your dinner cruise will take you among the mangroves and shag (cormorant) colonies to the scenic Haruru Falls.
Full-day eco tour to unique kauri trees in the Waipoua Forest including gigantic "Tane Mahuta" and other unique stands of kauri trees. There will be several easy walks to really get in touch with the flora, fauna and scenery of Northland.
Day 3
Explore the Far North with an enlightening commentary on both historic and cultural points of interest. Take a 4WD along 90 Mile Beach and Te Paki quicksand stream, dig for Tuatua (shellfish), visit the Cape Reinga lighthouse to see where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean.

Day 4
Cruise out through the many tiny islands of the Bay to pass through the renowned Hole in the Rock. Conditions permitting, see dolphins and different types of whales on the way. Your captain provides a full commentary on the history of the Bay of Islands along with dolphins, whales and other marine life in the Bay. Return by coach to Auckland at 5.20 pm.
